It’s not about the tools… it’s what you do with the tools that is interesting.
When I was in junior high school there was Computer Class. We went into a room and learned how to use the computer. Then we left that room and went into other rooms – without computers – to learn other things. Now computers are ubiquitous.
Now everybody is all excited about social media and all these new and exciting ways to publish. But it is just another set of tools. Seth Godin says,
When everyone has access to the same tools, then having a tool isn’t much of an advantage.
Regardless of what tools you use to tell your story, they are just tools. The story is YOU. Be genuine. Be honest. Be you.
That’s the best tool you have.
