It’s not hard to understand why we remember so few names. So few people make an effort to tell you their name in a way you can understand! For example, I have attended a number of BNI meetings recently. If you haven’t been to one of these, then you need to know they have a […]

In the last two weeks I have attended several business networking events. At each of these events time is given for the attendees to stand up, introduce themselves, say their company name, and give their 10-second, 30-second, 0r 1-minute commercial or elevator pitch. In most cases, after giving their commercial, I still didn’t know the […]
This post may seem slightly contradictory to my last one, but I’m OK with that. Life is a complex thing! Last night my sweetie and I spent about an hour watching movie trailers on iTunes. A venture capitalist complains in this post about not being able to get back to every email message he receives. But I think the problem is not the quantity of email that he receives… the problem is the expectation of a response.
I’ve been thinking about the news recently that people are not joining (or leaving) Facebook for fear of their employers seeing something they shouldn’t… … and with all the crazy stuff people DO post to Facebook … … isn’t it safer for your employer to see what you are doing, rather them guessing you are […]
Every day as I go to and from my office in Seattle, Washington, I get to walk through Pike Place Market, the longest running public market in the United States. Vast well-lit arcades are filled with food vendors, craftspeople hawking their wares, and numerous flower stalls. I love flowers. I love the look of them, […]
